Noise pollution caused by people by bursting crackers has become a cause of concern nowadays. The crackers are burst to express jubilation at a victory, either in games or in politics. They have now become a part and parcel of the festivals. Particularly during the Kali Puja, the loud, piercing sound of crackers can be heard for hours together.
The alarming rise in cases of insomnia, high blood pressure, and damage to the ears is the inevitable result of this practice of bursting crackers. People with heart problems suffer the most, even babies are affected.
Therefore, I would like to request the concerned authorities to do something immediately to stop this practice of bursting crackers.
